A pair of vandals made off with police body armour after breaking into a series of vehicles early yesterday morning.
Kamloops RCMP say the hard-body vest came from a fully-marked police SUV from another detachment, which was "damaged significantly" by the vandals, according to an RCMP news release.
Police were called to the 900 block of Notre Dame Drive around 4:45 a.m. yesterday, Oct. 12.
“The SUV was towed and secured for examination by our Forensic Identification Service Unit as part of the ongoing investigation,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the news release.
Several other vehicles were damaged around 11:30 p.m., Oct. 11, police said. Police received that report a few hours after they were called to assess the police cruiser, but it's not clear whether it was at the same Notre Dame Drive business.
Two suspects were seen in the area where a police SUV and several other vehicles were vandalized earlier this week.

Two suspects were seen in the area on surveillance footage. The first was wearing all black with a maroon hood, while the second had a black and white Adidas-style jacket with blue jeans.
“While police officers, including those from our General Investigations Support Team, continue to work on identifying a suspect, we are asking the public to please be on the lookout for the police issued body armour stolen from the vehicle," Evelyn said.
