Blue skies returning to Kamloops for the weekend

Sunshine and temperatures in the mid-teens are the dominant features of Environment Canada's weather forecast through the weekend and into next week for Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS - A beautiful fall weekend is in store for Kamloops.

Environment Canada is calling for sunshine both Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures in line with normals for this time of year.

The southern third of the province will miss most of the effects of a cold front passing through the province on Friday, resulting in a mix of sun and cloud tomorrow, followed by sunny skies through the weekend, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Armel Castellan.

The forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day in Kamloops today, Oct. 11, with a high of 11 Celsius. The mercury is expected to drop to 6 C overnight under a partly cloudy sky.

A mix of sun and cloud is forecast for tomorrow, with brisk wind developing late in the morning and a high of 14 C with an overnight low of 3 C.

The forecast for the weekend calls for sunshine both Saturday and Sunday, with highs of around 15 C both days. The overnight low on Saturday will be below the freezing mark at -1 C.

The sunny skies are expected to last well into next week, with a high of 18 C predicted for Tuesday.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 14 C and lows of 3 C.
