Blazers sign goaltender Dylan Ferguson

KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Blazers have signed 1998 born goaltender Dylan Ferguson to a standard Western Hockey League education contract.

Ferguson was selected by the Blazers in the eighth round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Ferguson, who will turn 17 on Sept. 20, is from Lantzville, B.C. He has played the past two seasons with the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox, Sask., part of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

This season, Ferguson suited up for 25 games and was 17-7-0-0 with a 2.70 goals against average, a .907 save percentage and three shutouts.

In four playoff games, he posted a 2.02 goals against average and a .918 save percentage.

“Dylan is an important piece of what we believe is a strong group of 1998-born players,” commented General Manager, Craig Bonner. “He has had two strong seasons at Notre Dame and is ready to compete for a spot with our hockey club this upcoming season.”
