Blazers hockey school

Kamloops – The Kamloops Blazers Hockey School runs this week from Aug. 11-15 at the McArthur Island Sports Centre.

The day consists of different activities both on and off the ice for kids between the ages of 5 and 12 running from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily.

Local power skating coach Nina Hrycewich will lead all on-ice morning sessions, while Blazers’ Head Coach Don Hay and Associate Coach Mark Ferner will lead all on-ice afternoon skills sessions.

Six players will also serve as group leaders for the week as 18-year-olds Nathan Looysen and Matt Revel will lead the Initiation group. 20-year-old Brady Gaudet and 18-year-old Mitch Friesen will lead the Atom group. Finally, 20-year-old Chase Souto and 17-year-old Nick Chyzowski will help lead the Pee Wee group.

Hockey School Schedule:

Initiation – 8:00am – 1:00pm

Atom – 9:15am – 2:15pm

Pee Wee – 10:30am – 3:30pm
