Blaze consumes unoccupied home in Oliver

OLIVER - A mobile home was destroyed by fire in Oliver yesterday.

Oliver Fire Department spokesperson Rob Graham says the department was dispatched around 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 to a Main Street property in Oliver’s south end.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Graham says the home was unoccupied at the time, and is believed to have been used to house seasonal workers.

No one was hurt in the incident. Graham says the building was a total loss.

Firefighters were on scene for approximately two hours.

Graham says the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but a cause has not yet been determined.
