A popular biodegradable phone case company has launched a new Canadian website and will be sending their cases across the country from a Kamloops warehouse.

Pela, a Certified B Corporation announced its new Canadian site June 30.

Certified B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability and are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment.

The company stated on its Facebook post that it used to ship cases out of Canada, but in 2017 when Canada Post went on strike, it nearly bankrupted Pela as the company couldn’t deliver cases to customers.

They moved to the U.S. and Germany, before opening a warehouse location in Kamloops.

“As many of you know, Pela manufactures the majority of our pelacase.com products here in Kelowna, British Columbia. We’ll now be shipping the majority of our pelacase.ca orders out of a warehouse up the road in Kamloops,” according to the Facebook post.
