Crews are battling an out of control wildfire near Lytton today, March 23, that has grown to an estimate 150-hectares in size.

B.C. Wildfire said the blaze has doubled in size over the past few days and is located four kilometres north of Lytton, between Highway 12 and Highway 1.

Fire information officer Taylor MacDonald said 11 personal are on scene this morning and precipitation has assisted in battling the blaze.

"Trails and roads are acting as natural containment lines and crews are working to establish more containment lines on site today," a post to the B.C. Wildfire Facebook page said.

The fire is not currently threatening any structures at this time.

MacDonald said it's normal for the wildfire service to see a spike in wildfire activity this time of year as grasses are drying out.
