BC United has selected its candidate in the riding of Penticton-Summerland ahead of this year's provincial election.

Tracy St. Claire lives lives in Penticton with her husband and daughters, and is the executive director of the South Okanagan Similkameen Division of Family Practice, according to a BC United media release issued today, Feb. 13.

"I am deeply honoured to seek the support of the people of Penticton-Summerland and to try and maintain the standard of service that BC United MLA Dan Ashton provided for many years. My commitment to improving healthcare access and quality, along with my passion for community service, will drive my efforts as the MLA," St. Claire said in the release.

The current BC United MLA Dan Ashton isn't seeking re-election and has endorsed St. Claire's candidacy.

"Tracy will work diligently for all the Citizens for this wonderful area," Ashton said in the release.

As the election approaches, on or before Oct. 19, BC United is still in the process of selecting candidates for all its ridings.
