A Tofino nurse was suspended from practicing for a year after sexual misconduct involving a coworker.
Registered nurse Andrea McGowan signed a consent agreement with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, which is an admission of guilt, according to a notice published, Nov. 6.
Her suspension was related to a specific incident at a 2021 work function, but there were other unwelcome and unwanted sexual comments and gestures to coworkers, according to the public notice.
The comments were made both on and off duty, in person and on social media, according to the college.
She has voluntarily agreed to the one year suspension.
The inquiry committee is satisfied the terms will protect the public, the notice read.
