A B.C. nurse has been suspended for 10 weeks for posting videos on social media of her working at a long-term care facility.

According to a June 20 British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives decision, licensed practical nurse Erika Sevilla posted videos to social media of residents in a long-term care facility who were "without the capacity" to consent to the recordings being posted.

It's not clear whether the videos were selfies of her at work.

The incidents took place in Abbotsford between February 2021 and February 2022.

The decision says Sevilla also misreported her annual practice hours and breached the terms of an agreement with B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives.

Sevilla signed a consent agreement admitting to her behaviour.

The licensed practical nurse will now face a 10-week suspension, as well as being prohibited from being the sole nurse on duty for six months.

She will also have to take a program to address the "foundational issues" of her behaviour.

No other details were given in the decision.
