A B.C. Mountie is facing a series of charges relating to allegations of misconduct against two individuals starting in January 2017 and continuing through to May of this year.
The B.C. Prosecution Service announced today, July 8, that charges have been approved against Trail RCMP Const. Steven Allan Murchie of breach of trust in connection with the duties of his office, criminal harassment, and forcible entry.
The charges sworn on July 3 in Rossland court involve allegations of misconduct at or near Trail.
Const. Murchie’s next appearance is scheduled for Sept. 17 and a ban on publication of the names of the targets of the alleged misconduct has been ordered by the court.
As this matter is now before the court the prosecution service said it will not be releasing additional information or commenting further at this time.
