B.C. man admits to murdering his wife

A 40-year-old Surrey woman succumbed to her injuries after getting stabbed in December and her husband has accepted responsibility.

Navinder Gill pled guilty to second degree murder on June 22, according to a release from the RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Officers found his wife Harpreet Kaur Gill suffering from stab wounds on Dec. 7, 2022 before she was taken to the hospital where she died. A suspect was arrested at the scene.

“I’m proud of the hard work done by the IHIT team and the Surrey RCMP, which brought this file to this point,” Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said in the release.

“Cases that involve domestic violence have an impact on the entire community. If you or someone you know is in need of help, please reach out to your local police.”

Gill’s sentencing is expected to be scheduled later in 2023.
