B.C. Liberal Party member from Kelowna gets the boot for Nazi comment

Hundreds of people rallied in Kelowna last week to support Black Lives Matters but one man has been booted from a local political party executive for alluding that they're no different from Nazis, just with a different demographic.

Kelowna-Lake Country Liberal MLA Norm Letnick has fired a member of his executive board for insensitive comments on social media.

In a social media post, Justin Neufeld wrote that a Black Lives Matters salute is no different than a Nazi salute.

“The comment in question does not reflect the views of the riding association, the Party, and myself and is at odds with our commitment to fighting racism and discrimination in all forms,” Letnick told iNFOnews.ca by text.

He described Neufeld as a volunteer member of the riding association executive and said that he called Neufeld and told him his position on the board was over as soon as he learned of the post.

“One just needs to look at the diversity of my family make up and my lineage to appreciate how much I disagree with his perspective,” Letnick texted.

In a social media exchange, Neufeld posted that Black Lives Matters has no interest in unity.

“It’s an exceptionalist divisionary agitation group designed to instill anger and social disparities,” he continued. “It is no different than Nazism just the polar opposite in terms of demographic.”

In an exchange, with another person he said he was not defending Nazis.

“I’m just as much against the nazi salute as I am the fight in the air,” he posted. “F me. Hahaha. God you people really are stupid.”
