The birth of 2022 has been personified by New Year's babies in Kamloops, Kelowna and Vernon, and Penticton.
The Interior's first New Year’s baby arrived on Jan. 1 at 2:11 a.m.
Parents Molly and Tyler welcomed Grey Ron Allison, a 6 lb 13 oz. baby boy, at the Kelowna General Hospital.
A baby girl was welcomed at the Kamloops Royal Inland Hospital on Jan. 1 at 3:29 a.m.
Later that morning, at 7:42 a.m., Vernon welcomed their New Year’s baby girl at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
The families have declined to release any further information, Interior Health said.
On Jan. 3 at 2:47 a.m., the Penticton Regional Hospital welcomed its first baby of the year, a boy.
He weighed 9 lb 11 oz. at birth, to parents Nicole and Clayton Quintal of Osoyoos. The baby has two sisters, Berkley, 4, and Hayden, 2.
