A fishing lodge and resort at Tunkwa Lake could be yours for $4.895 million.

Tunkwa Lake Resort owner Al Patton said it's time to retire after 16 years of ownership, despite a strong bounce back of visitors this spring.

"We're running a hundred per cent occupancy rates now," he said.

The resort, north of Logan Lake in Tunkwa Provincial Park, is listed for $4.895 million by Land Quest Realty. It includes 18 acres of property along the lakefront, and just narrowly avoided the massive Tremont Creek wildfire last year.

"Not one cabin was lost on the lake," Patton said.

With its main lodge and 21 cabins spared, the surrounding area was torched by the Tremont Creek wildfire. The resort evacuated for more than a month.

Although the wildfire covered more than 60,000 hectares as it burned out of control for much of last summer, firefighters kept it at bay from the resort as it spread around it and eventually toward the community of Logan Lake.

Many homes and structures were lost in the White Rock Lake and Lytton wildfires, while the Tremont Creek wildfire spared homes and buildings as it burned from July to September 2021.
