If you’re planning on taking a ride with B.C. Ferries any time soon, make sure you have a mask with you and be prepared to wear it.

The company will require mandatory non-medical face masks on all travellers effective Aug. 24.

Previously, the company had required travellers to have a face covering with them but only required it be worn when at the terminal and onboard when social distancing couldn’t be maintained.

The announcement came as a part of the release of their first-quarter results, which shows a revenue drop of $109 million year-over-year.

The company reintroduced limited food service on some routes at the end of June, and expanded food service in July. The release states that the company will continue to review operations and capital plans to try and preserve cash.
