PENTICTON - Tourism Penticton is calling on residents to join then in a B.C. Day Instameet.
An instameet is a group of photography and Instagram enthusiasts from a wide variety of backgrounds who gather together to investigate and photograph a designated part of the city, according to a media release.
It’s an excellent way to meet new people, create awareness of the city, demonstrate civic pride, and have fun, the release says.
Tourism Penticton is making arrangements to have Instameeters gather at the Peach on Lakeshore Drive at 10 a.m. Aug.1. Participants will be given route maps and then be free to explore and photograph whatever interests them.
The walking tour will finish in Gyro Park in time for cake cutting and B.C. Day celebrations, as well as providing an opportunity for Instameeters to share and post images.
For more information go to the Instameet Penticton website.
