The B.C. Centre for Disease Control is warning the public about a COVID-19 text scam going around.

The text states it's from the BCCDC and provides COVID-19 test results, even to those who haven't been tested, according to tweet from the BCCDC.

If you receive this text, and you haven't been tested, it's fake.

However, if you have been tested, check the phone number from the sender of the text.

Official text message results from the BCCDC all come from the same five digit number, not a phone number.
