A bloody rug that was turned into the Barriere RCMP detachment has investigators itching their chins.

Blood on the 5’ by 8 ‘ blue Ikea rug was confirmed to be from a human, according to an RCMP release.

“Investigators are unsure of where the area rug came from or the circumstances surrounding the blood on it,” the release says. “The RCMP are concerned for the well-being of the person or persons to whom the blood belongs.”

The investigation is being led by the RCMP Southeast District.

Anyone who can help is asked to call RCMP Tip Line at 1-877-987-8477.
