BARRIERE - It was an unusual lottery ticket purchase for a Barriere couple who are now $675,000 richer after buying a scratch and win ticket.

Sheron Rehbein and Daniel Comeau purchased the winner in a change of pace, buying the scratch and win rather than their usual crossword ticket, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release.

“I don’t know what drew me to this ticket this particular time,” said Sheron. “As soon as I saw the three matching symbols I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t wait to tell Dan.”

The couple have a couple of must-haves on their list including the restoration of an antique heritage ring.

“We still feel numb, a new camper would be great, and this will definitely help with retirement. I would love to buy some property with a cabin, and maybe have some animals. Something like that has always been a dream,” Daniel says.

The pair purchased their Set for Life ticket at the 7-Eleven store on 8 Street in Kamloops.
