OLIVER - A series of winter storms has brought much needed snow to Baldy Mountain Ski Resort near Oliver, just in time for the mountain to open for the season.
Opening day is planned for tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 21, marking the ski resort’s 50th season.
The Sugarlump Quad Chair and the Magic Carpet will be open to access six trails on the right side of the chair, three groomed and three ungroomed.
Marketing coordinator Andrew Zwicker said in a press release the resort will be assessing conditions and expect to open additional runs left of the Sugarlump Chair as soon as conditions allow.
Starting tomorrow, the resort will be open seven days a week through Jan. 7 before returning to a Thursday to Monday schedule.
Baldy Mountain Resort is approximately a 45-minute drive east of Oliver.
