Backpack full of bloody items found in Penticton

A backpack with strange contents found on Fairveiw Road on the weekend has police concerned it may have ties to a criminal event.

PENTICTON - A backpack containing some concerning contents was found outside a Fairview Road business last weekend, and at this point RCMP are unsure whether it is linked to any other crimes in the city.

A woman arriving at work found the backpack near Accent Fireplace Gallery at 1295 Fairview Rd. on Saturday, Oct. 17, according to Penticton RCMP spokesman Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth.

The backpack contained novelty handcuffs, razor blades, sweat pants, baby powder and diapers in both adult and larger child size. All of the items had blood on them.

Wrigglesworth says the items were examined and secured by police they have not yet been linked to a crime. They will be held by RCMP in case they are found to relate to another police file.
