Axe-wielding man arrested in downtown Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP arrested a man who was reported to be walking downtown wielding an axe and yelling at two people on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to find the man around Victoria Street and 3 Avenue on Aug. 3, around 1:40 p.m. He was later found in a parking lot on the 500-block of Seymour Street, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

The man, who was already known to police, was arrested and his axe was seized as RCMP continue the investigation.

According to police, there have been no victims found or that have come forward. There was also no injuries reported.
