Three skiers went out of bounds at Big White Ski Resort and triggered an avalanche yesterday.

No one was injured in the slide that took place at 11:30 a.m. on March 16.

The skiers triggered the avalanche out of bounds in the Eco Bowl behind the Falcon Chair.

“This avalanche was large enough to destroy a motor vehicle,” the resort wrote in a social media post.

The risk for avalanches is high at the moment, and skiers are advised not to go out of bounds without knowledge of the conditions and proper equipment.
