Police are hoping the public can help them find a 30-year-old man accused of breaking into a recently deceased person’s home in Louis Creek north of Kamloops.

The break and enter happened in late April, according to a Barriere RCMP media release, and officers discovered various items had been stolen.

Officers called to a car crash in McLure two weeks later found several of the deceased person’s belongings including cheques. As they investigated, police realized the cheques had been used to fraudulently buy a vehicle.

A warrant was issued for Trevor James Richardson for one count of theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

RCMP describe Richardson as a 30-year-old Caucasian male, 6’4” tall, 165 lbs. with brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.

Anyone with information about Richardson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Barriere RCMP or the police in their jurisdiction.
