Arrest made in Kamloops motel murder

KAMLOOPS – RCMP have made an arrest in connection with a homicide at a Valleyview motel last week.

Gordon Paul Camille, 65, of Kamloops was arrested yesterday, Feb. 5, and charged him with murder, according to a RCMP media release.

Police were called to the 4 Seasons Motel in the 1700 block of Trans Canada East Frontage Road on Tuesday, Jan. 26 for the suspicious death of a 49-year-old man. The B.C. Coroners Service later confirmed the death was a homicide.

Kamloops RCMP aren’t releasing the name of the victim or any other information about the investigation at this time.

The motel homicide came just days after the city’s first murder of the year outside Hatsuki Sushi on the city’s North Shore on Jan. 22. A 30-year-old man was stabbed and later died in hospital from his injuries.
