KAMLOOPS - After more than three years, Kamloops RCMP have made an arrest in connection to the death of a 20-year-old man.

According to a news release from Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jody Neuls, 30-year-old Nathaniel Jessup has been arrested and charged with second degree murder.

In November 2014, Kamloops RCMP attended Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre after receiving a report of a sudden death of a 20-year-old man. The B.C. Coroners Service led the investigation.

Neuls says in the release that in the summer of 2015, police received new information that led them to believe criminal actions may have been involved in the death, and an investigation was launched.

Neuls says the victim's family has been made aware of the developments through the investigation.

Jessup is being held in custody to go before a judge. Neuls says he was an inmate at the time of the victim’s death. He is not from Kamloops but is known to police.

Police have now confirmed the identity of the deceased as Dylan Judd, who was found dead in his cell at the correctional centre during a morning check in the early morning hours of Nov. 10, 2014.
