It looks as though April is going to end on a damp note in the Okanagan, as soggy conditions are predicted for much of this week.

Environment Canada says to expect the sunny start to the day today, April 28, to disappear by midday as clouds roll in, bringing a 30 per cent chance of rain to the valley starting this afternoon and through this evening.

Vernon and Kelowna should reach a high of 14 Celsius, while Penticton’s high is forecast at 17 C, with a low of 7 C for all three cities tonight.

Wednesday should be mainly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers starting in late morning and continuing into Wednesday night, with a high of 16 C and a low of 9 C expected.

Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 16 C and a low of 4 C, while Friday should be a sun and cloud mix with a high reaching 20 C and a low down to 5 C.

The first weekend in May looks like there will be more clouds than sun, with cloudy skies on Saturday and a 60 per cent chance of showers for Sunday. Weekend highs of 18 C on Saturday and 17 C on Sunday are expected.

Monday should see the return of a sun and cloud mix with a high of 17 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 17 C and lows of 4 C.
