WILMINGTON, Del. - A lawsuit against Delaware's largest private landowner and other companies is moving forward, saying "systemic concealed defects" are threatening to collapse the terraces on 63 waterfront homes that were built in part with taxpayer dollars.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports the lawsuit filed by Amanda and Jason Jones in 2015 is moving into depositions and could become a class action. The plaintiffs say water seeped into beams that support decks on the second and third stories in the Christina Landing development in Wilmington.
The lawsuit seeks money for repairs and punitive damages from Buccini/Pollin Group, four Delaware contractors, the National Home Insurance Company and the Home Buyers Warranty Corp. All the companies involved appear to be blaming each other while the residents wait for fixes.
