KAMLOOPS - One of the groups opposed to the proposed Ajax Mine is bringing Canada’s most famous environmentalist to town.

Dr. David Suzuki will be speaking at Thompson Rivers University on Feb. 8 about humanity in the 21st century and our connection to other life on earth, according to post on Eventbrite. The event is being hosted by Kamloops Code Blue, an anti-Ajax Mine group.

Suzuki is arguably Canada’s most famous scientist, with 55 books to his name, as well multiple international awards. He’s a Companion to the Order of Canada and co-founded a foundation named after him.

He’s perhaps most famous for his work on the TV show the Nature of Things and as the original host of the radio show Quirks and Quarks.

His lecture will be at TRU’s Grand Hall, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2017. Tickets are $25.
