KAMLOOPS - A wildfire burning 55 kilometres northwest of Kamloops has been declared 100 per cent contained by B.C. Wildfire.

The Allie Lake wildfire north of Savona, which was discovered on May 23 and nearly doubled in size within days, is no longer classified as out of control, although it still remains active.

The wildfire, which is near the perimeter of last year's devastating Elephant Hill wildfire, is currently approximately 2,700 hectares in size.

Previous evacuation orders and alerts have now been rescinded, according to B.C. Wildfire.

A wildfire near Lillooet, the Xusum Creek fire, is now 500 hectares in size and still out of control.

Evacuation orders and alerts are in place for the Xusum Creek fire and more information can be found here.
