KAMLOOPS - As Canada's 43rd federal election officially begins, candidate forums will begin to pop up over the next few weeks.

The Council of Canadians in Kamloops plan to host an all-candidate forum on Sept. 28 at the Kamloops Regional Farmers' Market near the Stuart Wood schoolyard. The forum is set to start at 10 a.m.

Another forum will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. hosted by Kamloops This Week, Radio NL and the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held at the Grand Hall at Thompson Rivers University.

There are six candidates currently running in the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding including Incumbent Conservative MP Cathy McLeod, Liberal candidate Terry Lake, Iain Currie of the Green Party, Peter Kerek of the Communist Party of Canada, Kira Cheeseborough of the Animal Protection Party of Canada and Ken Finlayson of the People's Party of Canada.

The New Democratic Party of Canada does not have a candidate in the riding.
