The Kettle Valley Steam Railway is preparing for an abbreviated season due to the COVID -19 pandemic.

The 10 kilometre long scenic tourist railway is scheduled to resume operations on July 18, railway spokesperson Maryana Holzer said July 10.

Holzer says initial plans call for one train daily on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, leaving the station at 10:30 a.m.

The schedule will be in effect for the last two weeks of July as a trial period.

Holzer says a schedule for August and September would be determined during the trial period.

Guests need to call ahead for reservations, as some trains are already full and there is limited seating due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, Holzer says.

For more information, see the Kettle Valley Steam Railway website.
