ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Authorities say a plane carrying a reported 10 people crashed Friday night near the western Alaska village of Saint Mary's.
Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says there is no immediate word on possible casualties.
She says in a telephone interview that "we have found a crash site and are working on identifying what needs to be done with the passengers that are there."
She says it isn't immediately clear whether troopers or other rescuers were at the scene, about 470 miles from Anchorage.
The Cessna 208 had been reported missing on a flight from Bethel to Saint Mary's, KTUU-TV reported.
Peters said she did not know whether it was a charter or regularly scheduled flight.
The temperature in the area was about 18 degrees Friday night.
