Aggressive fire west of West Kelowna of concern to B.C. Wildfire

WEST KELOWNA - A new wildfire buring near Gottfriedsen Mountain has caught the attention of B.C. Wildfire and may get the attention of West Kelowna residents.

“It is not threatening structures or communities but it is demonstrating fairly aggressive fire bvehaviour and and is growing,” B.C. Wildfire posted to its Facebook page this afternoon.

The fire is approximately 24 kilometres west of West Kelowna and eight kilometres north of Highway 97C.

"The B.C. Wildfire Service is assessing the fire and evaluating all response options,” the post says. "Smoke may become visible to residents of West Kelowna as the afternoon progresses.”
