After-hours assault leaves one person injured in Kelowna

KELOWNA - An early morning altercation between two men in Downtown Kelowna over the weekend left one of them with facial fractures and two black eyes.

Two men left Sapphire Nightclub and ended up in front of the Pita Pit Restaurant on Bernard Avenue, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on May 22, according to a Crime Stoppers release. A 'surfer-skater looking male' with long blonde hair pushed one of the men.

A comment was made about an Australian accent (the victim had an English accent) and then the victim was punched in the face and went down.

The blonde suspect was with two other men, but no description is available for them.

The victim went to Kelowna General Hospital the next day with two black eyes, a fractured nose and a fractured left cheekbone.

Witnesses are asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
