After a rainy May, this isn't the start to June Kamloops was hoping for

The first week of June is expeced to be cooler than normal with mostly grey skies and the possibility of showers in Kamloops.

There isn't much in this week's Kamloops forecast to put one in a summer mood because it looks like it's going to be a grey and unsettled start to the month of June.

There’s rain in this week’s forecast, lots of clouds, but not much sunshine expected over the next few days, as the mixed conditions keep temperatures a few degrees below seasonal norms as well.

Still, it could be worse. It was a stormy weekend in Alberta, where the second tornado recorded this year was witnessed in that province on Sunday, near Beiseker.

Environment Canada says to expect a mix of sun and clouds this morning with a 30 per cent chance of showers this afternoon and evening before clearing.

It should reach 20 Celsius this afternoon with a low tonight of 8 C.

Increasing cloudiness tomorrow morning could give way to a 60 per cent chance of showers Tuesday afternoon. Winds becoming southwest at 30 km/h should be accompanied by a high of 19 C and a low of 9 C overnight.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 19 C and a low of 10 C.

A mix of sun and cloud on Thursday should see a high of 21 C and a low of 10 C.

More clouds are in store for Friday, with a high of 23 C and a low of 13 C.

The weekend looks like it will be cloudy at this point, with a 60 per cent chance of showers forecast for Saturday and Saturday night.

Weekend highs of 20 C on Saturday and 19 C on Sunday are forecast.

Kamloops’ normal high and low for early June is 23 C and 10 C.
