WEST KELOWNA - Advance polls for the West Kelowna city hall referendum open next week.
Advance polls are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 and Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Westbank Lions community hall, 2466 Main St., in West Kelowna.
General voting takes place Saturday, September 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Polls are open at Constable Neil Bruce middle school, 2010 Daimler Drive, George Pringle elementary school, 3770 Elliot Rd., Glenrosa middle school, 2974 Glen Abbey Pl. and Mar Jok elementary school at 2101 McDougall Rd.
Voters most register on whatever day they vote b providing two pieces of identification, one with a signature and the other with a current address.
To vote, you must be 18 years old and a Canadian citizen on voting day, a resident of B.C. for at least six months prior to registration and be a resident or owner of property in West Kelowna for at least 30 days before registration.
The City of West Kelowna is asking residents for permission to borrow up to $7.7 million for construction of a new city hall.
