VERNON - If you were wondering what that red and white Cessna plane was doing flying in loops above Vernon this past week, you weren’t alone.
The aircraft earned quite a bit of attention flying in circles, sometimes for hours in the same spot. People reported seeing it circling above Cools Pond, the BX area, Swan Lake, and Armstrong.
You might have guessed stunt practice or training exercises to be the reason behind it, but as it turns out, the plane belongs to an Ontario based company specializing in aerial surveys and photography, AFS Aerial Photography Inc.
We asked the company — which has done work for Nestle Canada, Tim Hortons and Environment Canada — for an interview and a chance to see the aerial photos they took, but did not receive a response. At least they gave us an entertaining aerial show.
