PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - A pro-life group is taking the City of Peterborough to court over a decision not to allow anti-abortion ads to be posted on city buses.
The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform says refusing to post the ads infringes on free speech and violates the organization's charter rights.
The Centre will be in court on Tuesday to seek a declaration that its rights were breached.
Peterborough city solicitor Patricia Lester declined to comment until the court has made a decision, but said the city is not planning to fight the matter.
The CCBR issued a statement saying the city has also agreed to post the ad, which depicts two pictures of fetuses with the caption "growing, growing, gone."
