KAMLOOPS - The Kamloops Seniors Village is hoping to see as many trick-or-treaters as they can on Halloween.

Recreation manager Erica Buckingham says it's an important experience for their tenants.

"We did it last year and this year we’d like it to be a little bit bigger," she says. "We’re just trying to make great connections with the community and inter-generational connections as well."

Buckingham says the senior centre has a full day of Halloween activities planned for its tenants on Tuesday, Oct. 31, but between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., trick-or-treaters can stop by the village to check out the decorations, get some candy and see costumes. There will be a costume parade between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The tenants love to be around kids, Buckingham says, and she feels it's important for children to develop connections with older generations. She hopes activities like this can help make that happen.

Buckingham says the village had a big turn out for parents and kids dressed up in costumes last year, and they hope to see even more next week.

The Kamloops Seniors Village is located at 1220 Hugh Allan Dr.
