The rate of vaccination for those over the age of 12 in B.C. remained at 89.8% today. That’s the same as yesterday even though 2,792 people got their first doses in the past 24 hours.

But, 6,963 people got their second doses in the last 24 hours, meaning 85% of B.C. residents are now fully vaccinated.

That doesn’t mean much in terms of the number of infections, with 584 new cases in B.C. in the last 24 hours, 85 of which were in the Interior Health region, according to a Ministry of Health news release issued today, Oct. 29.

There were 232 new cases in Fraser Health, 104 in Northern Health, 82 on Vancouver Island and 81 in Vancouver Coastal.

Another nine people died in the past 24 hours in B.C., but none of those deaths were in the Interior Health region, bringing the pandemic death toll to 2,156.

There are 4,982 active cases in the province with 436 people in hospital, 156 of whom are in intensive care.
