WEST KELOWNA – A 62-year-old man was stabbed during an apparent robbery at a pawn shop in West Kelowna last week and police are asking the public for help finding the suspect.

At around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11, a lone, masked man entered Sidney’s Swap and Shop on Main Street and demanded money, according to a press release.

“Despite the suspect being given an undisclosed amount of cash, it is alleged that he produced a knife and stabbed a 62-year-old West Kelowna man,” RCMP spokesperson Const. Kris Clark says.

The man then fled the scene on a bicycle.

Clark says staff believe the suspect to be a homeless man living in the area. He is described as a Caucasian male in his 30’s, 5’9” tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a hooded, green jacket.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP, Cpl. Podmoroff at 250-768-2880. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
