59 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C.; 17 in Interior Health

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. continues to drop.

There have been 59 new cases of COVID-19 overnight, raising the provincial total to 147,856 since the start of the pandemic, according to the province.

There are currently 624 active cases in the province, 86 people are currently in hospital and 20 are in intensive care. 

Of all these cases, 17 are in the Interior Health region, and there are currently 163 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, no new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 1,759.

As of Wednesday, July 7, 78.2% (3,631,452) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 38.2% (1,772,595) received their second dose.

B.C. is reporting 59 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 147,856 cases in the province.
