55+ B.C. Games underway in Vernon this week

VERNON - The 30th annual 55+ B.C. Games will be held in Vernon this week.

The former B.C. Seniors games begin tomorrow, Sept. 12 and run until Sept. 16 at venues throughout Vernon and area, including Armstrong, Spallumcheen and Coldstream.

The multi-sport competition will have over 3,500 athletes, officials and supporters, according to the Games website. There will be a variety of sports and activities ranging from hockey to bocce.

Competitors are active seniors from across B.C. who range in age from 55 to over 90, organizers say. They will showcase their athleticism and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

You don't need a ticket to attend the sports competitions because they are free and open to the public.
