Interior Health has reached another vaccination milestone this week, with 385,000 shots administered across the region.
Interior Health’s #journey2immunity campaign reached the milestone May 14. The health authority is calling for local influencers to help people register for their vaccines.
The health authority is calling on private sector employers, coaches, faith leaders, service groups, tourism operators, and more, to encourage their networks to register and schedule their immunizations, according to a press release issued by Interior Health.
The Interior’s vaccine rollout is a co-ordinated effort between Interior Health and the First Nations Health Authority. Together the health authorities have administered 364,749 first doses and 21,530 second doses of vaccine to people throughout the Interior region, for a total of 386,279 administered doses.
People aged 18 and older are reminded to register for a notification telling them when it is their turn to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
There are three ways to register for notifications:
1. Online by visiting the provincial website
2. By phone: 1-833-838-2323
3. In person at a Service B.C. office
For resources to help raise awareness and for information on how to register for a vaccine, email the health authority.
