Kamloops RCMP executed a search warrant at a North Shore residence last night, resulting in three arrests.
Kamloops RCMP officers were at the scene with South East District Emergency Response Team and the Targeted Enforcement Unit, resulting in a heavy police presence on 13 Street, Const. Crystal Evelyn said.
Around 6:45 p.m. yesterday, March 29, officers executed the warrant on the 900 block of 13 Street, where they seized drugs, weapons and stolen property and arrested three people.
The search was part of an ongoing drug investigation, according to Kamloops RCMP.
"The ERT is called in because of their expertise," Evelyn said. "They are trained to deal with these situations and help to keep all people involved safe."
Two men and one woman were arrested, but later released "pending the outcome of the investigation," according to an RCMP statement this morning.
She said investigators were at the scene until late in the evening and the investigation is ongoing.
A press statement issued last night said officers were at the scene and asked the public to remain clear of the area. However, RCMP said there was "no danger to the public."
