The B.C. SPCA asked for help finding homes for 26 rescued mini-horses and British Columbians responded.

All of the mini-horses rescued by the B.C. SPCA last week have now been adopted.

“We had more than 100 applications for the mini-horses, and even had a hauler donate their services to transport them to their new homes in return for a donation to the SPCA,” said B.C. SPCA's Lorie Chortyk, in a press release.

The horses were rescued from an Interior property following a report of neglect.

The horses were badly matted, caked in mud, and suffering from malnourishment. They also suffered limb and hoof issues, eye problems, dental issues and hair loss due to lice.

Six cattle, five llamas, four goats and two emus were also removed from the property.
