KAMLOOPS - A 37-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed on Kamloops's North Shore last night.

Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says in a news release that police received a call from Royal Inland Hospital last night, Dec. 5, at approximately 9:45 p.m. for a man attending with a gunshot wound.

When officers arrived, Fesenko says, they discovered the man had actually been stabbed. The alleged incident occurred on McGowan Avenue in North Kamloops.

Fesenko says a suspect was quickly identified and the 19-year-old is currently in custody. The victim is still in hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

Police say both subjects are well known to police.

They are continuing to investigate the incident.
