The 17 husky pups that were turned over to the BC SPCA cold and riddled with parasites are perking up.

The SPCA posted a video of the pooches, romping around and squeaking toys, clearly having benefitted from the salutary effects of a proper shelter.

"We told a few of the 17 husky puppies that came into care about the generosity of all the people out there helping to care for them. They said 'awoo' a lot, which we think means THANK YOU," reads the caption on the post.

The dogs, which are still in quarantine and not yet available for adoption, were found in the B.C. Interior outside in below-freezing temperatures on Christmas Eve. The BC SPCA is not disclosing their location for security reasons.

Staff and volunteers have given up holiday celebrations to help them. The shelter is overwhelmed and could really use your help with medical and care costs.

If you can help take care of these adorable pups, donate here.
